Dr. Hana Grobel, MD

Hana Grobel, MD, ABFM is a board-certified family physician with a fellowship in integrative medicine who is dedicated to caring for individuals and whole families at every stage of life. She values long-term relationships with her patients and practices a comprehensive, patient-centered approach that emphasizes prevention, lifestyle, and overall well-being.
Dr. Grobel earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Amherst College, developing a strong interest in the mind-body connection. After graduation, she was awarded the Amherst-Doshisha Fellowship and spent a year teaching in Japan as the cross-cultural ambassador. She then earned her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she was selected for the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of her compassionate approach to care. She completed her residency and fellowship in Family and Integrative Medicine at the UCSF Santa Rosa Residency Program.
Over the past decade, Dr. Grobel has cared for patients at the Hayward Community Wellness Center and the Sutter Palo Alto Medical Foundation. She enjoys getting to know her patients, listening to their stories and understanding their values, experiences, and goals. She combines evidence-based medicine with personalized care, working collaboratively to support each patient’s path to better health.
Throughout her training and career, Dr. Grobel has sought out innovative ways to educate and inspire both patients and colleagues in the pursuit of health and healing. From leading group medical visits to teaching medical professionals about different therapeutic approaches, Dr. Grobel recognizes the power of community and the value of collaborative care.
When her young son was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Grobel experienced firsthand what it means to be a patient and a caregiver within the healthcare system. This personal journey deepened her empathy, strengthened her commitment to advocacy, and reaffirmed her purpose as a physician.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children, visiting local farmers’ markets, learning about different cultures and languages, and trying new recipes.
