Yoyo Zhang, MD is a board-certified pediatrician who brings to Crescendo MD both the breadth of a primary care physician and the depth of a Stanford-trained specialist. She cares for children from birth through adolescence, with a particular interest in nutrition, growth, and digestive health.

Dr. Zhang earned her BA in English at Boston College and completed post-baccalaureate studies at the University of Pennsylvania before receiving her MD from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She came to the Bay Area for her residency in Pediatrics at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, and stayed for fellowship training in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. She is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology.

Since completing her training, Dr. Zhang has practiced general pediatrics alongside her specialty work, and primary care remains the heart of her practice. What she loves most is the continuity: being a constant presence in a child's life from the newborn days through adolescence, and a true partner to parents along the way. She welcomes open conversation about non-traditional and unconventional approaches to pediatric care, and meets families' questions with curiosity.

At Crescendo MD, Dr. Zhang offers unhurried, highly individualized care centered on prevention and wellness. Her specialty training shapes the everyday questions parents bring her, from starting solids and selective eating to food sensitivities, the developing gut microbiome, and the role of probiotics and supplements. She takes the time to understand each family's priorities and to think through the evidence with them. The families she cares for value her thoroughness, warmth, and approachability.

Dr. Zhang is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she served previously as Medical Director of the Intestinal Transplant Program at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, caring for children with some of the most complex digestive conditions. She received the Department of Pediatrics' 2025 Early Career Clinical Excellence Award and teaches a Stanford course on how childhood illness affects family development.

A mom of two young girls, Dr. Zhang lives in Menlo Park with her family. She enjoys stroller walks at the Dish, hikes at Windy Hill, weekend trips to the coast, and a good cup of coffee whenever she can get one.
