Alan Gianotti, MD, ABEM brings a wealth of training, experience, and perspective to his work at Crescendo MD.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, his Medical Doctorate from Oregon Health Sciences University, and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Gianotti is also a Fulbright Scholar in Infectious disease, studying in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Dr. Gianotti practiced at both Stanford Medical Center and Mills-Peninsula Medical Center. He has an extensive career in emergency medicine but his broad training has equipped him to also follow his passions in the fields of longevity & wellness, preventative healthcare, nutrition, and sleep. He prides himself on staying abreast of the ever-changing advancements in the field of medicine, practicing evidence-based medicine, and acknowledging both the benefits as well as the risks that medical progress provides.

He is an author, speaker, and instructor in the specialties of Emergency, Wilderness, Expedition, and Refugee Medicine. He has extensive experience organizing and providing medical care for large venue events such as concerts, national adventure races, and Major League Baseball games. He has also served as the physician for private jet expeditions around the world.

He has provided medical support for Himalayan climbing & trekking expeditions to Nepal, Bhutan, India & Pakistan as well as for numerous seasons with the Himalayan Rescue Association at the Mount Everest Base Camp. His international & disaster relief experience includes deployments to Bosnia, Haiti, Borneo, and Nepal.

Dr. Gianotti approaches every patient as a unique individual and focuses on helping each of them reach their health and wellness goals. He is ideally suited to care for both urgent and long-term health issues.

Dr Gianotti and his family volunteer annually at the Painted Turtle Camp, Paul Newman's camp for children with serious illnesses. He is an advisory board member (emeritus) for Andean Health & Development. He lives in Palo Alto with his wife, two adventurous daughters, and his beloved Golden Retriever.
